Characteristics of Waterproof Power Supply

1. High reliability
For example, the driving power supply of LED street lamp is installed at high altitude, which is inconvenient for maintenance and expensive for maintenance.
2. High efficiency
LED is an energy-saving product, and the efficiency of driving power supply is high. It is particularly important for the structure of the power supply in the lamp. Because the luminous efficiency of the LED decreases with the increase of the temperature of the LED, the heat dissipation of the LED is very important. The efficiency of the power supply is high, its loss power is small, and the heat in the lamp is small, which also reduces the temperature rise of the lamp, which is beneficial to delaying the light decay of the LED.
3. High Power Factor
Power factor is the load requirement of power grid. Generally, there are no mandatory indicators for electrical appliances under 70 watts. Although the low power factor of a single electric appliance with small power has little influence on the power grid, when people light the lights at night, the same kind of load is too concentrated, which will cause serious pollution to the power grid. It is said that in the near future, there may be some requirements on power factor for 30-40 watt LED driving power supply.
4. Driving mode
Now there are two kinds of common: one is a constant voltage source for multiple constant current sources, each constant current source separately to each LED power supply. In this way, the combination is flexible, and the LED fault along the way does not affect the work of other LEDs, but the cost will be slightly higher. The other is direct constant current power supply, LED series or parallel operation. It has the advantage of low cost, but poor flexibility, but also to solve a certain LED fault, do not affect the operation of other LED problems. These two forms coexist for a period of time, and the multi-channel constant current output power supply mode will be better in cost and performance, which may be the mainstream direction in the future.
5. Surge protection
The anti-surge capability of LED is relatively poor, especially the anti-reverse voltage capability. It is also important to strengthen the protection in this respect. Some LED lamps are installed outdoors, such as LED street lamps. Due to the triggering and lightning stroke of power grid load, various surges will be intruded from power grid system, and some surges will lead to the damage of LED. Therefore, the power supply of LED driver should have the ability to suppress the invasion of surge and protect the LED from damage.
6. In addition to conventional protection function, it is better to add negative feedback of LED temperature in constant current output to prevent excessive temperature of LED.
7. Protection
The lamp is installed outside, the power structure should be waterproof, moisture-proof, and the shell should be sun-proof.
8. The life of driving power supply should be matched with that of LED.
9. They should meet the requirements of safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility. With the increasingly widespread application of LED, the performance of LED driving power supply will be more and more suitable for the requirements of LED.
